Project Rebound

We are proud to announce that Sonoma State University will launch Project Rebound in Fall 2025, expanding our commitment to providing greater educational access and opportunities for all individuals seeking a fresh start through higher education.

Project Rebound is a program that supports the higher education and successful reintegration of formerly incarcerated individuals wishing to enroll and succeed at the California State University. By connecting students with critical resources, Project Rebound constructs an alternative to the revolving door policy of mass incarceration and increases community strength and safety.

At Sonoma State, Project Rebound will provide a supportive pathway to academic and personal achievement for students with lived experience of incarceration, system involvement, or other forms of justice impact—empowering them to pursue their educational goals and build brighter, more promising futures. Through comprehensive support services, community connection, and mentorship, we aim to foster a welcoming and transformative campus environment where students can succeed and lead with purpose.

We look forward to welcoming our first cohort in Fall 2025 and working together to expand pathways to success through the power of education.
